Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs is excited to host this event once again on October 5, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the picturesque Riverfront Park. We invite you all to join us, our generous sponsors, and many others to commemorate our fantastic service dogs and raise essential funds to train service dogs for our veterans who need them the most.
We know that approximately 22 veterans each day are taking their own lives, and this has only heightened in the past years. But once paired with a Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog, the rate of suicide in recipients to date is Zero.
Let’s collectively strive to create awareness and raise the funds needed to change and save lives. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us on October 5 for an unforgettable day in Pittsburgh!
With a range of activities planned for the day, it’s set to be a pet-friendly extravaganza! Attendees can enjoy a leisurely walk in the park, an adorable dog costume contest, and a dog parade with various categories and exciting prizes up for grabs. What’s more, there will be food vendors to satiate your hunger, pet and veteran-related vendors, music to get your feet tapping, plus heaps of fun for the entire family!

Mrs. Borden’s expertise and accomplishments are acknowledged by numerous national awards from various industries and agencies including the 2018 Corporate Pet Industry Woman of the Year and multiple awards for her organization’s work in mental health and suicide prevention.
She is frequently requested as a Keynote Speaker, and as an Industry Consultant to teach service dog laws to judicial systems, attorneys, and businesses, and to assist in service dog bills in multiple states that were passed into law. In 2020, she started an Institute for Higher Learning and the Borden Veterinary Hospital. Additionally, she has written and teaches college-accredited/VA-approved apprenticeship courses on dog training and service dog training.
