The Guardian Angels philosophy is built around being positive. We use positive reinforcement training techniques exclusively while training our dogs. We positively commit ourselves to our recipients and train each dog to the exacting needs of each recipient. If we match a dog with a recipient, and for whatever reason the match isn’t right – we will fix it. Our only goal is to ensure that our recipients are thriving with their service dogs.
Rescuing, raising, and training the highest caliber medical service/assistance dogs.
Pairing highly trained dogs with individuals afflicted by disabilities, including a focus on veterans with combat wounds.
Building/restoring independence and improving quality of life, for both the recipient and the dog, while minimizing reliance on government, communities, caregivers, and families.
Advancing successful service dog training practices by promoting appropriate trainer education and contributing to related research studies.
Pursuing increased public awareness and education regarding current disability laws and contributing to new/enhanced laws regarding service dogs.
Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs is a 501(c)3 based in Williston, Florida. Started in 2010 by Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Carol Borden. With her dedicated Board of Directors, employees, Ambassadors, Advisory Council and volunteers; together, we are unleashing the incredible power of service dogs.
Guardian Angels utilizes a positive-reinforcement training method and has a team of staff and volunteers that work incredibly hard to ensure that each applicant is carefully considered, each recipient has the tools they need to be successful with their service dog, and each dog is the most appropriate dog for their recipient.
No matter the disability, Guardian Angels strives to assist as many people as we can through the healing power of service dogs. We train medical service dogs to mitigate the challenges associated with several permanent disabilities, including PTS (Post Traumatic Stress), Traumatic Brain Injury, seizure and diabetic disorders, mobility issues and more.
Guardian Angels gave me the best part of my life! My life changed 100% for the better after receiving my dog. I am able to do things I could not do before, and Guardian Angels has become like a family to me.
Guardian Angels is proud to have paired hundreds of individually trained medical service dogs with deserving recipients across the nation since our beginning in 2010. At Guardian Angels, no recipient is ever charged for their service dog.
My name is Kathy Marshall, and my helper and best friend is Jule! Jule and I have been to gather for just over 1 year, and I can’t remember my life without her! Everyone I have worked with, and have helped me, through this process, has been wonderful to us both! Guardian Angels are just a fantastic organization, and I am so very thankful for my world again!!!
