October 3 fundraiser features a pig roast, live music and fall activities while supporting medical service dogs
Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs is reminding Pittsburgh-area residents that tickets are still available for the Pawtumn Bark-A-Que this Saturday, October 3, from noon to 4 p.m. at Quail Acres Pavilion in North Strabane Park, 1929 PA-519, Canonsburg.
Tickets are $25 per person and include Cheplic’s Pig Roast and sides, live music by The Next, a pumpkin to decorate, exclusive Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs swag, and unlimited playground access. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
All proceeds benefit Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs and its work training and pairing highly skilled medical service dogs with veterans, first responders, and individuals with permanent disabilities.
Pittsburgh radio personality Chad Tyson of 102.5 WDVE will serve as event emcee, bringing a familiar local voice to the afternoon’s activities.
“This is more than a fundraiser; it is a chance for the community to come together around a mission that changes lives every day,” said Brian DeLong, regional coordinator – Pittsburgh for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. “When people attend, sponsor, or share this event, they are helping make it possible for more veterans, first responders, and civilians with permanent disabilities to be paired with highly trained medical service dogs.”
The first 100 ticket purchasers will also receive an exclusive Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs hat as well as a bandana. Hats are available for local pickup only.
“Community support is an important part of making our mission possible, and events like the Pawtumn Bark-A-Que give people a meaningful way to learn more about Guardian Angels while supporting the people we serve,” said Rachel Gochenour, Development Coordinator for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. “We hope families and friends will join us in Canonsburg for a fun fall afternoon that also helps advance this work.”
