Carol Borden and Service Dogs

At Guardian Angels, while our Veterinary Care Department has always done a fabulous job taking care of our dogs and paired teams, we have now taken it to the next level. We are excited to introduce the Borden Veterinary Hospital located on our campus in Williston, FL. This on-site, non-profit hospital will oversee the care and provide for all medical needs of our dogs on campus. It will also provide oversight and guidance to all our teams across the country, as well as one-on-one care for our local teams for any of their medical needs.

By having a hospital on-site, we can provide constant, expert care to our dogs in training as well as our paired teams. We can handle a potential emergency without the need to rely on outside help that is 40 miles away. Our own hospital also allows us to provide timely treatment as needed in a comfortable environment that our dogs are already familiar with while learning that going to the vet is a positive experience.

The Borden Veterinary Hospital will be overseen by Dr. Charlotte Rogers. Dr. Rogers earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College CVM in 2009 and has spent the last 13 years expanding her experience from general small animal practice to large animal production medicine, advanced large animal reproduction techniques, and non-profit farm animal sanctuary care.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Rogers. We know everyone will love her and be put totally at ease with her knowledge and love for all animals. Other than a guide dog foundation, we are also delighted to have what may be the only veterinary hospital on a service dog campus anywhere in the country. We are currently developing curriculum for it to become a licensed teaching hospital with specialty components. As we continue our mission to train, donate and pair service dogs for those in need, we will also be able to provide our dogs and our teams with the best care possible.
