The Founder and CEO of Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc., Carol Borden titled her first dog at the age of ten. Professionally, Carol spent many years in retail managing big box stores, which provided her with the knowledge and experience to take on a project organization, such as Guardian Angels. Carol has logged over fifty years as a dog trainer; which includes being a professional dog handler and a certified CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator with the American Kennel Club.
She has taught hundreds of obedience classes, both private and public; titled and competed with dozens of dogs in both conformation and obedience. Carol has also trained in Schutzhund, tracking and agility, and even trained a dog for a movie. Carol was selected as the recipient of the 2014 Stephen R. Wise Advocacy Award from the Florida Rehabilitation Council (FRC) for the state of Florida; was one of six nominees selected for the Joe Sanchez, Jr. Leadership Award; and also named one of the Top 30 finalists (out of more than 4,000 applicants) for the National L’Oreal Women of Worth Award. Carol was named the 2018 Corporate Pet Industry Woman of the Year.
