Maranda

On October 2nd, Maranda Jacob the National Recipient Relations Director at Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs celebrated her 5th year with the organization. Maranda previously worked in the human services field since she received her Bachelors in 2005.  Since 2013, she had been working for Child Protective Services and was looking for a change due to feelings of being burnt out and to preserve her mental health.

“I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life that actually wanted me to be involved, instead of ‘having’ to be involved.  I was in NC at the time and started looking at jobs in FL and TN for a change of scenery.  Guardian Angels felt like a calling to me, and I prayed for the job.  Soon after submitting my resume, I completed a phone interview with Mary Jo and Carol and got a call the next day with an offer,” said Maranda.

Maranda’s Most Rewarding Part of Working with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs

Maranda said the most rewarding part of her job is “Being able to be involved in people’s lives and seeing the transformation from before receiving their dog to after their dog.  The best of this is to know the positive changes the recipients are experiencing because of their service dog.”

What Maranda Wants You to Know About Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs

Maranda wants others to understand their process and that Guardian Angels is with their recipients throughout the entire process and beyond! “There’s a lot that goes into the application process and preparing for a service dog, but it is all worth it!  We want you to be successful, and we are here to offer support and assistance throughout the working life of the dog,” said Maranda.
