Featured Person Gwyneth Hiesinger

In honor of Administrative Professionals Week last week, Guardian Angels would like to feature Gwyneth Hiesinger, who works in the organization’s finance department. She assists the organization with a variety of tasks, such as tracking donations and the money that goes out of the organization. Gwyneth recently celebrated her one-year anniversary with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs in February.

Gwyneth has an extensive administrative background, serving in various administrative positions for about ten years and then went on to own her own printing business for 20 years. This experience also overlaps with her experience as an occupational therapy assistant for the past ten years.

Gwyneth’s “Why” for Working with Guardian Angels

With her experience in the healthcare field, Gwyneth said she enjoyed the part of her job that allowed her to help set patients up for success, which she is now able to carry over to Guardian Angel recipients. “I am so happy to be able to continue to be a part of a process that enables the recipient to gain or maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.   Also, I’m very proud to work in an organization that is providing those benefits for veterans and first responders,” Gwyneth said.

What Gwyneth Wants You to Know About Guardian Angels

“I really like the fact that even though we are helping recipients who are veterans and first responders, we also employ them. We try to encourage any previous service members to apply and work here,” Gwyneth said.  She also said the Guardian Angels works hard to maintain an accommodating work environment where veterans and first responders can feel comfortable and safe during challenging situations that could elicit a negative response.
