Recipient Haylee talks to Janae Muchmore from WINK News, and tells her how her Service Dog, Spree has helped her return to school after surviving the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas School Shooting on February 14, 2018.

Haylee tried for months to return to school after the shooting, but each time she tried, panic would set in. It wasn’t until Haylee was paired with Spree that she was able to finally return and begin living her #NewNormal.

This interview aired on the one year anniversary of the tragedy.

The City of Sterling Heights, Michigan is a warm and caring community.

This past weekend, they hosted a community skate that included a fundraiser for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. Their goal is to raise the $25,000 necessary to raise, train and pair a Service Dog named Sterling (after their community) for a veteran or first-responder in need.

(Just imagine the good that could happen if every community did this!)
